Pipeline Components
Pipeline Components
“The speed at which pipelines are built is one of the more serious constraints in preventing impacts. Most big infrastructures take many years to plan and build. Completion of pipelines, on the other hand, often takes 24 to 36 months. This means it is even more important for the ESA of pipelines to begin as soon as the prefeasibility planning begins. Route selection, the main means of reducing impacts, is often one of the first items planned by the engineers. “
Being how I am blogging for a Valve Manufacture, I will save you some extra details about what a pipeline consists of. Depending on if you are an end-user, Mfg, or just a reader hoping to gain more info, you probably already know the different parts. Typically, you might see pipes, flanges, valves, fasteners, and of course many more parts. Some of the ball valves you might see would be the Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves. (This is our specialty)
GVC’s Trunnion Ball Valve are manufactured accordance to API 6D, NACE Compliant, they consist of 2 piece and 3 piece designs, also are Double Block & Bleed. We have a variety we keep in stock from ANSI 150-2500. If you are interested in GVC’s Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves, and want to know more information please visit our direct website which will route you to our Trunnion Valves: (For more information on our Trunnion Ball Valves, please visit our site; http://http://gvcintl.com/products_trunnion_mounted_ball_valves.html

Valves- Flanges
When you see the word Flange- what do you think of? There are many different types of flanges. Some of the major flange types are: Welding Neck Flange, Slip on, Lap Joint, and Blind.
The two most popular are Socket weld and Threaded Flanges, which are the ones that Global Valve and Controls provides on their valves.
“A flange is a method of connecting pipes, Valves, pumps and other equipment to form a piping system. It also provides easy access for cleaning, inspection or modification. Flanges are usually welded or screwed. Flanged joints are made by bolting together two flanges with a gasket between them to provide a seal.”
Safety in the Warehouse
Although working in a warehouse may be an exciting experience to some- there are many injuries and even deaths that occur, and one must be careful while working in that field. Improper use of forklifts, material handling, and inappropriate use of personal protective equipment are some of the factors that explain why accidents happen in the warehouse.
Here are some tips on how to maintain safety in your warehouse:
OSHA offered these safety measures for warehouse workers’ general safety:.
- The warehouse must be well ventilated.
- All floors, aisles and surfaces must be free of clutter, hoses, spills, electrical cords and other materials or factors that could cause slips, trips or falls.
- Workers who have to perform physical work must have enough periodic rest breaks to avoid fatigue.
- All newly-hired employees must receive both general ergonomics training and task-specific training.
- Every employee must be trained on how to avoid heat stress in hot and humid environments.

TYPES OF STAINLESS STEEL FOR BREWING
“Stainless steel is an alloy steel with a bright, long-lasting, silvery finish. The alloy has a 11-26% chromium base, with various percentages of nickel added to increase toughness and titanium added to increase weld ability.
Those most common to brewing are 304 and 316 stainless steel. Kegs are usually made from these materials. Both 304 and 316 have very good corrosion-resistance properties and are easily welded.”
Global Valve and Controls provide valves and controls provide highly capable and reliable service in catalyst slurry, gasification, hot gases, high pressure steam, polyethylene, vinyl chloride and many other related applications. GVC valves in exotic materials, including titanium, alloy 20, Monel and Hastelloy are used for highly corrosive applications involving sulfuric acid, aortic anhydride, and others.
We offer valves in Carbon Steel, Alloy 20, 316SS, CF8M, 304SS, LF2 and many more!

The Overview of Long Pipeline Ball Valve
In the long pipeline system, the required pipeline ball valve must have the following functions such as controlling the medium, changing the direction of the medium flow, preventing reflux, cutting off the medium, blocking the pipe and so on.
In order to realize the above-mentioned functions, the long pipeline ball valve must be provided with the following features. Firstly, reliable sealability. The long-distance pipeline can only be checked at the regular time and sometimes it has to pass through high mountain, desert, grassland, earthquake region and other places. If the sealability is not good, it maybe will result in leakage or even the serious accident. Therefore, for preventing these things, this kind of valve must have the good sealability, especially for the sealiability of urgent grease injection. Secondly, the operation time should be long. Once the long pipeline ball valve is used, it can not stop working in several years or even in more than ten years. The longer it operates, the better it is. For prolong the service time, the valve seat is of great importance. Because to some degree it depends on the using time of the valve. Thirdly, the valve must have the high strength and resistance force. In the transportation process, the pressure of this valve may reach at 10.0MPa and the length may be very long. Therefore, it is easy to suffer the extending, curving or squeezing by the external forces such as earthquake, temperature or equipment vibration. In order to ensure the normal operation of the valve, enough strength is essential. Fourthly, the long pipeline ball valve should be resistant to corrosion. Because the natural gas contains the Hydrogen sulfide, which can erode the valve and eat the mechanical device, it is of great importance to select resistance-proof material. Fifthly, it has the automatic function. As we know, the long pipeline ball valve is controlled by the central control room. So in order to control the valve at the long distance immediately, the valve should be controlled automatically. Last but not least, the valve must be light in weight and tight in structure. With this feature, it is convenient to install and repair the valve.
