Natural gas in Israel
Natural gas in Israel
Reports of more natural gas in Israel have spread across the nation. How much natural gas is still unknown but geologists report that it could be up to 2 million cubic feet of natural gas.
’A growing number of recent gas discoveries have made energy independence a possibility in the near future for Israel, according to the energy ministry. The discoveries have also pushed up the value of the shekel against the dollar as local companies no longer need as much foreign currency to purchase energy from abroad. “

Pipeline Components
Pipeline Components
“The speed at which pipelines are built is one of the more serious constraints in preventing impacts. Most big infrastructures take many years to plan and build. Completion of pipelines, on the other hand, often takes 24 to 36 months. This means it is even more important for the ESA of pipelines to begin as soon as the prefeasibility planning begins. Route selection, the main means of reducing impacts, is often one of the first items planned by the engineers. “
Being how I am blogging for a Valve Manufacture, I will save you some extra details about what a pipeline consists of. Depending on if you are an end-user, Mfg, or just a reader hoping to gain more info, you probably already know the different parts. Typically, you might see pipes, flanges, valves, fasteners, and of course many more parts. Some of the ball valves you might see would be the Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves. (This is our specialty)
GVC’s Trunnion Ball Valve are manufactured accordance to API 6D, NACE Compliant, they consist of 2 piece and 3 piece designs, also are Double Block & Bleed. We have a variety we keep in stock from ANSI 150-2500. If you are interested in GVC’s Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves, and want to know more information please visit our direct website which will route you to our Trunnion Valves: (For more information on our Trunnion Ball Valves, please visit our site; http://http://gvcintl.com/products_trunnion_mounted_ball_valves.html

Fixing the oil industry, one beer at a time
“The importance of the pipeline in industry, agriculture and nearly every vital facet of civilization cannot be under-emphasized. Without pipeline construction, we would lack plumbing and electricity, not to mention access to gas & petroleum reserves.”
“A massive undertaking of over 5 km in length, the Veltins Arena beer pipeline was constructed to ensure that it would never “run dry”.
What a great idea! If we could use the abandoned pipeline to make them into beer pipelines- nothing would go to waste! We wouldn't have any decommissioned pipelines lying around either.

Enbridge new Pipeline expansion project
Not, all the pipeline projects are dead yet! I am hoping with the new election coming up, there will be new projects and new pipelines to build.
“Enbridge has secured commercial support to proceed with several projects designed to increase capacity on the Enbridge crude oil mainline system in Canada and the U.S. and to increase capacity on pipelines that serve eastern U.S. and Canadian refineries.”
“Elsewhere the installation of a new 35-mile, 20-inch pipeline twinning the existing Enbridge Line 17 (Toledo pipeline) will add 80,000 bpd of capacity to the Enbridge mainline system. The line is expected to be available for service in early 2013 at a cost of approximately $0.2 billion.”
North Dakota is booming with oil
North Dakota is booming with oil. Many in the industry predict America will soon overtake Saudi Arabia and Russia in producing oil!
“In an America where 18m are out of work, the chance of finding any job – let alone a well-paid job – exerts an irresistible force that is drawing thousands to North Dakota in a 21st century re-enactment of the Gold Rush”
“To do that, however, the oil fields need more workers than the thinly populated state of North Dakota can possibly supply. Scores of people arrive every day looking for a new start, a second chance in lives wrecked by personal troubles and the recession”

Pipelines in Poland
“Exxon Mobil Corp. said Monday it has dropped further shale exploration in Poland after two wells failed to yield commercial quantities of natural gas, a hit for the country’s efforts to reduce its dependence on imports from Russia”
We know that Obama has cancelled the Keystone Pipeline- why not take all our resources and send some workers to the Eastern European countries to build a pipeline? This will not only help out our neighbors but also create jobs for thousands of people.
“Analysts have said that Poland and other Eastern European countries faced a big challenge for developing unconventional energy resources, owing to a lack of infrastructure and manpower. Unlike the U.S. and Canada, Poland doesn’t have a well-developed pipeline system to move gas from the fields it is produced to where it is consumed, nor the strong drilling services industry needed to tap shale reservoirs.”
Solenoid Valves
“Solenoid valves are used wherever fluid flow has to be controlled automatically. They are being used to an increasing degree in the most varied types of plants and equipment. The variety of different designs which are available enables a valve to be selected to specifically suit the application in question.”
Some of the different types of Solenoid valves are direct acting valves, direct acting 2 way valves, direct acting 3 way valves and direct acting multi-way valves. Each design has its own function and use. Here is a brief breakdown of each. To find out more information about these valves, you can visit this website; http://www.omega.com/techref/techprinc.html
DIRECT-ACTING VALVES
With a direct-acting solenoid valve, the seat seal is attached to the solenoid core. In the de-energized condition, a seat orifice is closed, which opens when the valve is energized.
DIRECT-ACTING 2-WAY VALVES
Two-way valves are shut-off valves with one inlet port and one outlet port. When energized, the core and seal are pulled into the solenoid coil and the valve opens.
DIRECT-ACTING 3-WAY VALVES
Three-way valves have three port connections and two valve seats. One valve seal always remains open and the other closed in the de-energized mode.
Depending on the application, there are different kinds of body materials for these valves. Examples are brass, bronze, and plastic.
20 RP VS 20 FP
(Click on the chart to get the full differences in different sizes)
Have you ever wondered what the difference of a 20 Reduced Port Ball Valve and a 20 Full Port Ball Valve? What do you think the differences are after reviewing the chart above?
Observers below:
- Operations Director states, “Well the cost is a big one, however, the CV Factor changes. Although, the port also changes, but a Reduced Port constricts the flow while the Full Port allows the flow to just flow.”
- Vice President of Sales & Marketing states, “One is full port and the other is reduced; however, a full port sizes go up to ¾”
- Account Executive-Inside Sales Account Manager states, “One is full port and the other is standard port, however 20RP’s are considered full port up to ¾” (Water, Oil & Gas Applications. And 20FP’s are a seal welded design.”
- Account Executive-Inside Sales Account Manager states, "20 RP's are considered full port up to 3/4"
The actual differences are: The CV Factor, how one port functions as compared to the other port, Full Port are a Seal Welded Design, Weight, Length, as well as Height
Rise in Valve shipments signals growth in Economy
“The Valve Manufacturers Association (VMA) recently released its latest annual market forecast for valve shipments. In it, plenty of good news because, for the third year in a row, shipments for the U.S. and Canadian industrial valve industry are forecast to grow, rising to about $4 billion in 2012. “
Like all manufacturing industries and shipping industries, valves saw a decline at one point during the recent world economic woes. “For our industry, which tends to lag behind the general economy and its own end-user industries, that drop was about 5% in 2009.
Based on this information that we have we can determine that while the US experienced down time in business, markets in India and China continued to grow, as well as in the Middle East.
